Having a bad day is quite normal. A day in which you get an F in an exam, you have a small fight with your colleagues at work, or let’s just say you start that important meeting a bit late because you got stuck in traffic. Feeling frustrated after a misadventure is natural, however, being in a constant state of despair, sadness and hopelessness or maybe emptiness is anomalous. In such cases, life becomes an overwhelming burden; one loses interest in the simplest daily activities, and gets captivated in a black hole of negativity. These might be symptoms of a severe mental disorder. Your life will feel full of ominous clouds of gloomy and pessimistic thoughts. You will witness major behavioral changes as well ; as your tolerance level to minor inconveniences will become very low and you will find yourself more agitated and violent than ever before. You might have a sleep disorder and you would probably lose your appetite. Being depressed means you will struggle both psychologically and physically, but there’s light at the end of every tunnel. Just beware that these problems are temporary and those feelings of overwhelming and impending doom are not permanent! It’s human to ask for help when it is needed. Don’t hesitate to open up to your family and friends or to go to a therapist. Meditation is also highly recommended as an efficient way to loosen up and get rid of obstructive attitude. No matter what type of depression you are experiencing try to deal with it and find immediate solutions before you reach rock bottom.
